Budget Talk...

Here's why I think we should have a Budget Subcommittee of the School Committee: 

1) It's a common best practice used across districts.

2) A budget subcommittee, when done with regular meetings and with proper reporting back to the full committee, creates transparency for the public. It also allows us to follow through on our budget and priorities for the full year. 

3) Subcommittees of all kinds are how the detailed work gets done. By law, they are not the final place decisions are made.  Instead, the divide and conquer mentality allows for more detailed work to be done in several places at a time.

CPA, Library, Capital

The Community Preservation Act Article 21 passed Town Meeting by a 104 to 16 vote.  This means the town will VOTE on it at the Fall election in November, 2022. June Meetings

ALMOST :) The Natick School Committee meets tonight, Tuesday June 7th and again next Monday, June 13th in preparation for the Evaluation Retreat meetings that we hold in person on June 22nd, 27th and 29th.   As always , you can join us in person on the 3rd floor of Town Hall and to most of our meetings, virtually.
